Ed Hardy

Recently in the shops I've seen some perfume packaging with illustrations by Ed Hardy.  I think his illustrations are amazing, they are so detailed and have a tattoo style to them.  I think they are eye catching with their use of bright bold colours and close up details.  I particularly like the way the designs have a gothic rough feel but this is balanced out with the use of bright colours.  The illustrations look hand drawn which is a nice effect and the shadows make the images appear like a lot of time and effort has been put into them.  In this piece I like the way the background has not been forgot about and is in keeping with the style of the main illustration.
